Getting to Borneo

Your journey to Tanjung Puting National Park begins with a flight to Pangkalan Bun in Central Kalimantan, Indonesian Borneo.

Your Route to the Jungle

01

Fly to Jakarta or Surabaya

Most international travellers arrive via Jakarta (CGK) or Surabaya (SUB), both major hubs with frequent connections from across Asia, Europe, and beyond.

02

Connect to Pangkalan Bun

From Jakarta or Surabaya, take a domestic flight to Iskandar Airport (PKN) in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan. Flight time is approximately 1-1.5 hours.

03

Transfer to Kumai

Our guide will pick you up from the airport or a hotel in Pangkalan Bun. It is a short 20 minute drive to the riverside town of Kumai, your departure point for the river journey into Tanjung Puting.

04

At Kumai port, you will board your traditional Klotok river boat and begin your journey up the Sekonyer River into the heart of the national park.
