Tour Example

Wildlife is unpredictable, so we don't follow a strict day-by-day itinerary. Below is a sample of what your tour might look like — your guide will adapt each day based on wildlife activity, weather, and your interests.

1

Arrival & Tanjung Harapan

Arrive at Pangkalan Bun airport where your guide meets you for transfer to Kumai port. Board your private klotok and begin cruising up the Sekonyer river into Tanjung Puting National Park. Visit the Tanjung Harapan feeding station for your first orangutan encounter. Enjoy a freshly prepared dinner as you watch the sunset from the boat deck.

2

Pondok Tanggui & Jungle Trek

Wake to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy breakfast on the boat. Cruise further upriver to Pondok Tanggui feeding station. After the morning feeding, your guide leads a jungle trek through primary rainforest, where you may spot proboscis monkeys, macaques, hornbills, and other wildlife. Return to the klotok for lunch and an afternoon of river cruising and wildlife spotting.

3

Camp Leakey

Today is the highlight of your trip. Cruise to Camp Leakey, the world-famous orangutan research centre. Watch the feeding session where wild and rehabilitated orangutans gather. Explore the surrounding trails with your guide and learn about the ongoing conservation efforts. This is your best opportunity for close orangutan encounters and incredible photography.

4

Return & Departure

Enjoy a final breakfast on the river as your klotok cruises back towards Kumai. Take in the last views of the rainforest and keep an eye out for wildlife along the banks. Transfer back to Pangkalan Bun airport for your onward journey. Your guide ensures you arrive in plenty of time for your flight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need: airport transfers, private klotok with AC bedroom and ensuite, all meals and drinks onboard, expert local guide, boat crew, national park entrance fees, and guided jungle treks to feeding stations.
Most travellers fly from Jakarta or Surabaya to Pangkalan Bun (PKN) airport. We'll meet you right at the airport — no need to arrange separate transport. We can help recommend flights when you book.
Yes! Families are welcome. The pace is relaxed and the klotok is comfortable. Children love the orangutans. We recommend ages 6+ for the jungle treks, but younger kids can stay on the boat with the crew.
Borneo is a tropical rainforest — some rain is normal and part of the experience. The klotok provides shelter, and light rain rarely disrupts activities. We provide ponchos, and feeding sessions run rain or shine.
Very close — often within a few metres at feeding stations. These are wild and semi-wild orangutans who are comfortable around people. Your guide ensures safe distances are maintained. Bring a good camera!
Yes, we require all guests to have travel insurance that covers medical evacuation. Borneo is remote, and while incidents are rare, proper coverage is essential. We can recommend providers.
A deposit secures your dates immediately. The remaining balance is due before your tour start date. We accept all major credit cards via Stripe. Your card details are stored securely for the balance payment.
Absolutely. The published itinerary is a guide — every trip can be tailored to your interests, pace, and preferences. Want an extra night trek or a village visit? Just let us know in the special requests when booking.
